New York Medical Doctor Malpractice

Information Provided by Our New York Medical Malpractice Attorney

The medical specialty of Internal Medicine covers a great number of sub-specialties, such as, family practice, cardiology, gastroenterology, and hematology-oncology.

Except for gastroenterology, which involves certain laparoscopic procedures like a colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy, these sub-specialties do not involve surgery. They involve diagnosis and medical treatment by means of some medical therapy, such as prescribing medication.

When these practitioners fail to order the correct tests or imaging, fail to make the proper diagnosis, or delay the diagnosis based on the clinical picture - signs and symptoms of the disease in question - and tests or imaging, the patient can be injured or, even worse, their life can be put in jeopardy.  A missed or delayed diagnosis can involve anything from a missed diagnosis of an infected appendix to advanced cancer.

If you or a loved one has been misdiagnosed, or there has been an improper delay in diagnosis that has led to your pain and suffering, the pain and suffering of your infant or the pain and suffering and death of a loved one, you should contact New York medical malpractice lawyer Walter G. Alton, Jr., Esq., to investigate the medical principles involved. You will be well-represented by a highly experienced litigator and compassionate advocate.
